Sadie's Hawkins

Sadie’s Hawkins is a girls ask guys dance, and SoCo has never had one before. This year marketing teacher Vera Woodson’s seventh period advanced marketing class is mixing it up and hosting a spring fling- Sadie’s style. The dance will be held on March 18 featuring DJ EJ and MC Snake. Tickets went on sale starting Feb. 17. From the 17 through the 24 tickets were $10 for one, and $15 for two. Prices will increase from Feb. 27 to Mar. 17 tickets will cost $15 for one, and $20 for two. The week leading up to the fling will be a spirit week, with the theme of diversity. The days will be a variety of spring type things, such as college day where you wear clothing of the college you’re going to.

“I am excited for a Sadies, because I think it will be a lot of fun. It is a good idea because we get to switch things up so girls get to ask guys. The pressure is on us this time instead of the boys, so the proposals won’t be as generic which I think will make things fun,” said senior Sydney Baker.
