Boys B-Ball Hot Streak
After a slow 0-3 start, the South County Boys’ Basketball team has begun to heat up. Sitting near the top of the Patriot Conference with a 4-1 record, the Stallions’ are surging at the right time. With Conference wins over Annandale, Mount Vernon, West Springfield, and most recently T.C. Williams, the team is headed in the right direction and students are optimistic about the year.
“After being to most of the games this year, I can tell this is a special team. They can spread the floor and have lots of athletes on the squad. They are hot right now and after this 4-0 start I don’t think there is any team in the conference who can stop them,” said junior Jack Cone.
The team has been led by seniors Elliot Johnson (Guard) and Garrett Reaves (Forward) with key contributions from juniors Seth Dunn (Guard) and Branden Powe (Guard). There are nine games remaining in the regular season, which features two matchups with rival Lake Braddock Bruins, the first one being on Friday night at South County. First year Coach Mike Robinson has sparked the Stallions, who look to continue their hot streak Friday night.
